| Makes me so sad.... I just need to write this post to share and let out my frustration I am having right now. My neighbor owns 2 yorkies, a male and female. The female (Fluffy) is about 3 lbs., and the male is about 6lbs. Adorable furbabies, and are best friends my little one. Anyway, this is what really saddens me. My neighbor is from Brazil (we'll call her "Maria"), and she's been longing to breed her little ones because she is dying to have puppies. However, she has NO experience, and NO knowledge about doing this. She tried this a couple times. One time, she thought Fluffy was pregnant, and was waiting and waiting, for the baby to be born, but she later found out that Fluffy wasn't even pregnant. The next time, she did get pregnant, and I was telling her that she needs to be prepared, and needs to know what to do. The little baby was born, and died within 24 hours, because Maria left it alone and the mother took the baby off the heating pad, so it froze to death. Maria was devasted (not to mention Fluffy). I have to say I'm not surprised, because she never even went to the vet to make sure everything was okay, she had no idea what to do when the baby was born, and she wouldn't even try to learn. I told her about YorkieTalk, but she only checked it out but didn't ask any questions.
So, after the baby died, she said she was going to get Fluffy fixed. I just ran into her the other day, and she said she thinks Fluffy is pregnant again, and she's really excited to have another puppy . I couldn't believe I was even hearing this. I'm just so frustrated because I don't think she is properly equipped to handle this situation, and she takes no interest in trying to become more knowledgable about it. I feel like she's just doing it to fill some void she has in her heart, but i don't think it's fair to Fluffy or the new born puppy.
Thanks for listening everyone. I'm not sure if I'm just being hard on her, but it just seems to spark up a little bit of frustration in me. I might be overreacting about this. I just needed to let it out, so thanks for listening to my rant! |
