2 all itty bitty yorkie owners with 2 pound adult yorkies please let me in on some info on ur baby like how much they weighed @ 3 months ??? How many weeks were they when they got there first shot ?????? Is it very difficult to take care of ur baby besides I know having to pay way more attention on them. With eatting, other dogs, fallen, getting stepped on, basically besides the obviouse ????!? And did ur baby have not much of a weight gain while growing ????? If u could go back would u have wanted a dog that weighed more because it would have been easier please let me know on ur experience |
My Missy doesn't sound quite as small as your itty bitty, but she is only 2 lbs and 11 ozs at 23 weeks of age (so almost 6 months). As far as healthwise...she's extremely healthy according to my vet. She's just like any other dog, only smaller

She is however a fussy eater, I've started homecooking fo her and that's finally giving her an appetite. Between the ages of 7.5 weeks and about 12-14 weeks I had to use Nutri-cal for her daily to keep her blood sugar levels up. At first it was several times a day, then I gradually weaned her off of it. So far noone has stepped on her, but she did break her leg by jumping off of my hand only 4 inches off of the floor. According to her surgeon it was the type of injury that could happen to any dog (my husband has had the same injury) and it has nothing to do with her small size, BUT surgery cost me a ridiculous amount of money because she's so little. $3,500 to place a 2mm screw and a pin in her leg.
Do I with that I would have bought a bigger Yorkie? NEVER! I love Missy whether she's 2 lbs or 20
