I agree with the above poster. There could be long term effects. How old is your puppy? IMO 12-13 hours is a long time to be left alone daily, especially for a puppy. I would consider a doggy daycare if you can afford it, this will help socialize your puppy as well. Perhaps there is a neighborhood kid that can come by after school to walk her?

Talk to your boss, depending on your job maybe she can come in with you on some days?
