I'm glad that you're able to take atleast one and doing your research.
The advice so far are right on. And if she's not spayed, look into taking her to People for Animal in Hillside, NJ after taking her to the vet ofcourse. But I took my Duke there and they did a great job for a portion of what the vets would.
Enjoy her and take your time also.
