I was exactly the same. I wanted him to be ready to be a big boy SO bad! I only had myself to blame when he proudly told me that he wasn't! lol So I know exactly where you are.
Be strong and remember that a few months of being a hardass IS worth it for him to become a well trained little boy! ^^ Afterall, he has the rest of his little life to run around your house and cause (unrelated to potty) chaos!
