Hi,

My four month old puppy's ears just stood up! It was very random (they had always been droopy before), but I was thrilled because I thought this meant that I wouldn't have to tape them, which I wasn't looking forward to.

Her ears stayed up for about a week, and then she got her last distemper vaccine and they drooped down again! They stayed that way for two days, and now they're sort of up again, but one is kind of droopy.

Whether or not her ears stay up seems to be connected with how she feels. If she's tired/sick, they droop. If she's playful and excited and energetic, they're usually up.

This is frustrating - do you think I should go ahead and tape her ears to encourage them to stay standing? Are her ears standing up something she consciously controls? Has anyone else's pup had their ears stand all the way up out of the blue?

Any suggestions would be great.
