ya, I think I would wait as well. the surgery and recovery process take lots of energy from her already, I would give her body sometime.
and my girl Dolly did not go into her first heat until a year old, my other girl Shorty also did not get spayed until after her first heat due to some liver issues, and her vet told me I could do the spaying surgery on her right now(with all the other stress she is dealing with), but if she were mine, I would wait!
