Both of my tiny girls quit trying to nurse last night. My vet and I did all we could today, she was just too little and weak and more importantly...didn't have the fight to live.
I am still doubting myself, wondering what I did wrong. Could she have gotten pushed away from momma and chilled after I fell asleep? Did she asperate while I was tubing? I will never know.
I am tubing the other tiny girl, and she has went from 2 ounces to 2.4 ounces today. She looks to be a fighter. Any good thoughts for this little one to do well with her tubing, and to begin nursing on her own, sure would be appreciated.
The other three girls are nursing and gaining weight. And Sky is the best Momma in the world.
Thanks to all for the wonderful comments. I promise to keep updates on the girls as they grow. |
Oh I am so sorry. Sometimes there is nothing you can do....
Sending prayers for tiny girl....sounds like she's doing well with the tube feeding. Glad to hear the others are eating and gaining.
