I have the same problem with a female I got at 16 months who's previous owner would quick her nails. This 7 lbs female totally freaks out if you just touch her foot. Anyway, to cut her nails it is a major battle. I usually just pick her up and walk around with her and clip her nails that way. I don't always get them all done all one time but a few here and there. I feel really sad for her.

As for how short to cut them, when you look at the nails you will see where they are start curving down, you want to cut them right where the nail is starting to curve down.
