Default One just isn't enough...

We've been having Pumpkin for about a year now, and since my wife and I both work during the day, we decided it was time to get Pumpkin a playmate to spend the day with. We wanted to get another little girl, and a lady we know told us about a listing at a vet's office for a 6 month old female yorkie. We called the people and they told us they had sold the puppy a while back.
Our next option that we had talked about was to call the breeder we got Pumpkin from and see if she had any to be adopted or if she would be having some soon. She told us that she was getting out of the business, and she had Pumpkin's mom and the mom had another littler. All she had left from the litter was a boy who was 7 months old. She said we could pick either one.
My wife and I started researching here on YorkieTalk to make sure having 2 was a good idea, and whether it was good to have a boy and a girl. My wife has always had female animals, so she wasn't sure how males react and asked me to search YorkieTalk to see what people have said about it.
We spent a few hours reading posts and discussing it and decided to go for it. The next day we called her up and said we wanted the little boy, and we arranged to pick him up that evening.
In any event, here is our new little boy (who is Pumpkin's brother from another litter) Patrick! When we got to the breeder's house I picked him up and he licked me all over and ended up putting his head on my shoulder. I fell in love instantly. My wife said she has never seen me melt like that before!!!
After spending a week with them, I am 100% confident that we made the perfect decision and we absolutely love having 2 of them. He is so quiet and calm, while Pumpkin can be loud and energetic!
We haven't had many issues, and the few times there was any aggression, we took care of it. Pumpkin has handled the newcomer better than I ever expected, and Patrick loves being with us. It's just so fun watching them play (we still can't stop laughing at them) and everywhere one goes, the other goes.
So I just want to say thanks to everyone at YorkieTalk for sharing the experiences you've had with your Yorkies. The information here is priceless and has helped to make a hard decision easy, which has turned out better than we both expected.
