I have heard about the nails being softer after a bath. Also, I have a pair of clippers I got at PetSmart that have a guide on them. They are really easy, there is a guard, and I put the nail to the guard and clip. Stewie is only 6 months so I am no where near a pro at this! Just trying to find what works best for us. Hope this helps!
