We have one similar to this for the older cat that lives at the clinic. Used to have one with the heating pad but was a hassle remembering to turn it off at night. The thermal works really well and after he gets in and lays for a few minutes it gets very warm with his body heat. Haven't tried out the cooling part, will let you know this summer.
