We had blood taken and an x-ray taken yesterday, and the doctor said that his liver is a *little bit* smaller and under a couple ribs lower than normal. She said that she can't tell at this point if he does have shunts, but that it is a possibility. Has anyone gone through an experience with a puppy with shunts? Any advice on this would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks!
My Yorkie had a blood work done, indicating liver numbers high. Had a bile acid test done, had a ultrasound done by a board certified radiologist. DX was a liver shunt. 2/3/09 she had her surgery.

Ultrasound is better than an x-ray. Find a board certified radiologist to do an ultrasound.

Good luck...
