The first time I took Pippin to the beach, he was a sand digging machine - poor little puppy. He got sand everywhere, including in his eyes, so I had to leave right away and shower him down. He was a smart little guy though, after that one incident he never had much of a propensity to dig in the sand again. I took him with me to FL for several months (Atlantic and Neptune beaches) and let him play with other dogs on the beach several times without a problem. Maybe it was a puppy thing?
