Mine go outside, so if they wake me up they go out and they KNOW they don't get back in til they go. They start to try to get me to feed them at like 5:30 but they know I won't feed them til at least 7, so we usually go out to potty around 5:30 and then we all go back to bed til 7 and I wake up to them sitting on me or staring at me. They wag their tails when I open my eyes and start running in circles when I put on my robe
Our instigator is definitely Sammy. Loki waits for me to get up as long as it's before like 8:30. Sammy is up once the sun comes up. I NEED to get her on a different schedule, but with the weather so crappy I can't wear her out and she's just not tired. Once it's nice out she will be so tired she will sleep
I have to let her out when she wakes up though or she poops on the floor
It's ALL about the routine though. Mine know that we go out, potty, go back to bed, then we get up LATER, potty, and eat. They have no problem settling back into bed, in fact they race upstairs to get the best spot. They weren't always like that, I just didn't give them a choice and now it's all they know.
