 Need Advise on purchase
I am a small breeder looking to incorporate champions in my bloodline. I thought I found the perfect opportunity when posted on puppyfind I found a pregnant bitch, champions in her lineage, bred to a champion. The dog was located in a state 1500 miles away, so I flew her on a straight flight here. The bitch was listed as pregnant, supposed to be due on the 28th of Feb, I took her in for a ultrasound 8 days ago, on the 6th, no puppies found. The bitch is not gaining weight, very slight built. The seller was informed of the ultrasound results- response being that her vet had palpated the dog before she left and felt that the dog was pg. I paid , per the seller, for a yorkie, and a stud fee (2200.00 ) She refuses to take the dog back- but is willing to give me a rebreed next heat, if in fact the dog is not pregnant. Is this a professional breeders response? Is this, in your opinion the best I should hope for? I feel duped- but, I am not sure how to proceed. How should I have handled this? Need Advise.
