I did the same thing once , left a small pot of water on the stove to make ice tea.....forgot about it , and we
LEFT the house !
Sydney was barking at dh ( who had came home from work, and more to save her own butt than anything else
) and when he went into the kitchen in was glowing orange !
No one was hurt thank God , and he put it out with an extinguisher ( thankfully it had just really started) .
I still can't believe I did that !!! The worst part was when I came home I still didn't remember the pot of water and yelled at him for doing it
He still teases me and says," Honey if you want something remodeled, just ask ...don't try to burn the place down"
