As soon as she is five months old, she is old enough for a BAT. Since Yorkies are 36 times more likey to have a shunt than all other breeds combined, Dr. Center recommends that all Yorkie puppies have a bile acids test. Since she is tiny, a picky eater and poorly bred, she definitely should have a BAT. It's such an easy and inexpensive test (usually around $50-75). No fasting is required anymore, either.
