If you do not plan to spend any money on your breeding pair and litter, you could actually afford to give them away.

If you decide to use the services of vet for all the necessary health checks, before and after whelping, xrays, tails/declaws, puppy checks, stool checks, shots, care/ feeding of parents and pups, proper equipment, grooming supplies, dental care, etc etc, etc .then you will not do it for $300 unless you have a fat bank account as a safety net...I won't bore you with the details of a litter that needs to be delivered at 2AM..that can set you back $1000 or $2000 more depending on what part of the country you live in...if you are able to get at least 7 or 8 pups in an ER litter, plus the normal litter expenses, then you should break even..Best wishes
