I agree with Chachi. It is very normal for intubation to cause throat irritation. No worries there.
However, what is this about her reacting to anesthesia? What kind was used? Will they be using something else this time? Is preop blood work going to be done? Is surgery done on a heated surface and an IV placed before surgery?
Why does she need yearly cleanings? A lot of Yorkies have teeth problems but if they are maintained at home, usually that means less dentals. My Yorkie had severe periodontal disease. She had oral surgery and then another cleaning about 8 months later. It has been 16 months now and the vet said her teeth look awesome... Are you using anything like OraVet at home? Brushing daily?
