The things that have happened to her are just the tip of the iceberg. Since my dh died, it's like there has been a giant target hanging over our heads. She got 2 trumped up traffic tickets - one for speeding while she was traveling in a group of cars all going the same speed - she was the only one pulled over. When she went to fight it, there were about 30 others there from the same area who had gotten tickets from the same cop at the same place. She got it down to a small fine. The second happened while I took her down to move out in SC. I was with her and she wasn't speeding. I am a fanatic about speeding and I know we were within the limit. The town it happened in is just outside Myrtle Beach and consists of one speedlimit sign, a gas station, a traffic lite and a very lonely, bored cop. We were slowing down and were at the town speed limit sign when stopped - he said we didn't slow down at the first sign - DUH - that was the first sign. Since we drove 15 hrs down, packed up the car and drove 15 hrs back, we weren't going to court to fight it. Paid the $81.00 and got a notice to pay another $100 to unsuspend her licence. That came today. Her car needs some work done to pass inspection so she can't drive it. She has been having panic attacks at work(they are very understanding) and was able to up her meds dosage today. The Dr. also gave her mega amounts of antibiotics to take care of most things that may be present. She has to wait to find out about the Hepatitis, HPV, Herpes, and Aids. And pregnancy. Her seizures have started back up but we have figured them out, since no Dr.'s have been able to. They are triggured by long periods of reading. She has been being treated for chronic bronchitus for years - we just found out she has asthma - not bronchitus. That is improving now that she has the correct meds. She has lost 2 jobs because of sexual harrasment(she is built like Dolly Parton). I could keep going, there is no end to her bad luck. When Joe died, she was in the 11th grade. In Myrtle Beach(where we lived at the time) she was taking college courses - on the Dean's List - honor roll student and could have graduated HS early. She had a scholarship for college. When we moved back here to PA, she was told by the high school that she would have to start the following year in the 10th grade, making her 19 when she graduated. They wouldn't accept her HS credits from the south(they are still fighting the Civil War here, I guess). So, she moved herself back to SC and finished her education thru Adult Ed and graduated with honors and was inducted into the National Honor Society. Only about 5% of GED graduates ever accompolish that. She still has all the cards and gifts that the YT members sent her. She treasures them. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Oh, my best friend works at the Rape and Crisis Center and she is going to go talk to them. I know she needs that or she'll never trust anyone again.
