Responsible breeders work towards breeding to standard...not changing the standard to fit dogs that do not conform. That is the point of having a standard. Do all breedings produce dogs that adhere to the standard? No. Responsible breeders then place these dogs as pets with non-breeding contracts. The answer isn't to say that we are producing mostly dogs with 5 legs so lets include five-legged dogs in the standard. |
