Coat type and color can be very difficult to predict unless you are breeding lines that all have the same coat type for several generations. When you mix coat types, like one with a cotton coat and one with a silky coat you can actually get some of each coat types in a litter. Even breeding two silky coated dogs can produce a cottony coated puppy if one of the grandparents had a cottony coat. |
