Default Be very careful with the rabies shots

When I was a new mom and did everything the vet said- no questions asked, I let Roxy get her rabies shot (not along with any other shots though) The next day she had what resembled a blood blister the size of a quarter- which looks reeally big on a small pup. The vet said she may have been bitten by a mosquito.- yeah right! Anyway he lanced it and we had to apply warm compresses to it every two hours and press on it until it went down. Luckily you can't tell where it was now. (underside- near back leg) And the way he gave the injection seemed soo harsh. It was like the needle was dull and he had to force it in. Needless to say, I changed vets after that. I will not get the follow up rabies shot. I will just keep her close at hand when we are out and about. I live in the city anyway and the chances of rabies is very slim. My groomer required shots but has not said anything about updates. If she does, I'll just get a home visiting groomer! That one reaction was enough for me
