I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a Yorkie that will be 6 months old on the 12th of this month. She lets us know when she has to go out during her waking hours. I crate her at night. When I get up in the morning to take her out before I go to work she has already messed in her crate. I put a blanket in half of the crate so if she messes she would have a place to go. (The crate has a drop pan). Here's the problem. Sometimes she will mess on her blanket. I know dogs don't mess where they sleep but she does and I am beside myself with this.
I have had 2 other Yorkies and neither one ever did that. Her crate is big enough for her to stand up and turn around.
There is not a night that goes by that she doesn't mess in the crate or on her blanket. Please, anyone have any suggestions?
I take her out before we go to bed at night.
