I used the plug in in the kitchen when I first got Lil' Miss Izzie at 12 weeks, and when I had my neighbor check in on her throughout the day while I was as work she said that she was calm and quiet..so for me it seemed to work. I would get some and give it a trail run on just a little small car trip first, they you might know if it will work for a longer car ride. Good Luck...
