Enzyme cleaners do wonders for getting the smell out of stains but in my experience, they aren't the best for actually removing stains. We use an OxyClean formula in our steam cleaner. I imagine you could use the same on your carpet! OxyClean works wonders.

Have you thought about buying a steam cleaner? You can buy a portable one for around $50. It's been well worth our investment.. I'm not sure what I would do without ours!
