Those are some of the things that I'm afraid I'm going to miss, and I think would they would be nice to have. Oh, just to clarify, adopting to me is getting a pup no matter where it comes from (reputable breeder or rescue) because either way, I'm taking on the responsibility of caring and being a good "mommy" to this new pup.

My parents are pushing me to go with puppy so that it could grow up getting use to my schedule and I can get use to him.
Thanks llcornell for reminding me that there are milestones to be had with rescues too. When I do dog grooming for the spca, there are sometimes dogs that are so shy when I come in and don't want anything to do wehn I approach them. It can take me anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to get that particular dog to be comfortable enough with me for me to take it out of the kennel. Even after the terrifying bath, they always wine and cry when I leave. It is such a bittersweet moment!!!!
Anyway, I would like to hear more about those who had puppies and watched them grow and what makes it so great to have a puppy, other than the cute factor of course!!!
