Bad idea for the dog to be in the glove box area.
Assuming it gets the green light to become a production vehicle, it will NEVER have the dog in the glove box area because US government standards require both driver and passenger airbags. Not only that, but ASSUMING that the dog was in the glove box area...if you think cell phones are distracting...how about your dog in the glove box? (This is one reason why TVs are not allowed in the dashboard from the OEMs. Only in the roof area, just slightly behind the driver's view...so it will not distract him).
What if the vehicle is involved in a serious accident where the doors are pinned to the body and there is a fire? How would you rescue your dog from what is essentially your dashboard?
