Excessive drooling Luca, our 4 1/2 mo, 5 1/5 lb, puppy has and eye ulcer (from littermate scratch) that we have been treating since we got him Dec 30th. Anyway, he started drooling, excessively, and we thought it was the meds (they've changed them twice). I think it may be teething but no one I talk to has ever had a Yorkie drool that badly while teething. He is perfect other than that. He eats, sleeps, pees, poops, plays and fights as usual. I see no difference other than he wants to chew everything in sight. Annabella did this too. She is now almost 9 mos old.
The vet looked in his mouth and did not find any foreign object and of course, he IS teething. He doesn;t drool at night, only when he is awake. Clear water will drip from the corners of his mouth. I thought , at first, that he was swimming in his water bowl but that is not the case. His little mouth hairs are always wet. There is no odor and he show no sign of pain except for his eye. Could it be because I keep putting stuff in his eye? I don;t think his eye hurts, it may be blurry from the salve I have to use. He only opens it all the way after I put artificial tears in.
He looks so pitiful. Have another app with vet on Thursday. |
