I did use a cleaner that was supposed to get rid of pheremones, I found it at Petsmart. I used it throughout the basement, especially in her spot right at the bottom of the stairs. It didn't help at all, so for now she's banned from the basement.
I think I will try putting another pad near the table. I liked having just her ONE potty spot (which is only about 20 Layla-sized steps away!) but hopefully this will help. I did have TWO pads in the basement when she was allowed down there, but she rarely went on them at all.
