I think it is so sweet of you to buy your girlfriend a yorkie for her birthday. I really hope that you'll surprise her with the thought but allow her to look for the puppy with you. I think it's important that she have a say in the dog she gets and I would be wary of any breeder that allows you to buy a puppy as a surprise gift. Also it is expensive to raise a litter properly and if the puppies are too cheap then most likely no health screening was fine. Yorkiss have so many health issues common to the breed. It's better to spend more for a healthy pup from a good breeder than buy a cheap pup from a backyard breeder that may cost you far more in vet bills.
