Some newspapers also will sometimes run a Spanish version next to an English version - or maybe a sidebar that summarizes what happened in Spanish. I would definitely ask a reporter about that. You might also look for a Hispanic newspaper or cable TV channel that reaches your area, if you really think a Hispanic person might have her.
When contacting reporters - look through your paper, pay attn to who on the News does these type of stories - whether its consumer fraud or human interest. Then contact those reporters directly. It is hard if you get someone who says, oh I'd love to do the story, but its not my beat. If someone tells you that, ask for a name, phone number, email address for a reporter who would be likely to cover something along this line. You may have to be pretty persistent. I will pray that the right person will tell your story
