I'm glad he's doing well now. Be sure to tell your sister about the dangers of feeding raisins to dogs. Grapes and raisins can be very toxic and cause acute renal failure.

Symptoms of acute renal failure:

Disorientation
Incoordination
Decreased urine production
Straining to urinate
Loss of appetite
Lethargy
Vomiting
Weakness
Changes in water consumption and urination
