This is from another post I gave but I think it goes well here too.
Matise is 1 year old and I started feeding this to him at 10 months of age. After the vet had said it was ok to switch him from a puppy diet to an adult diet. I feed Matise Hills Science Diet Prescription Diet I/D can food.
Matise has had some gastrointestinal problems in the past (a little vomiting for no apparent reason and all x-rays, blood tests gave no reason-he seamed perfectly healthy but for some reason he was vomiting) So we, my vet and I, thought it could possibly be a food allergy or sensitivity-possibly to animal by products so I changed his diet to the I/D can (not the dry because it does have by-products in it) the vet said it is a complete nutrition diet so it is perfectly fine to feed it to him indefinitely, and it doesn't have animal by-products. He loves it, and no more vomiting. And I am happy he is getting a complete diet with no animal by-products. I know that because I give him soft food I make sure that he has non-edible toys that help clean his teeth and I will have to keep an eye on them and take him in for regular teeth cleanings. Hope this helps.
