Here’s a shocker: The mother who just gave birth to in-vitro octuplets absolutely loves children. But it seems Nadya Suleman’s new publicist has a lot more explaining to do. The mother of 14 is unemployed, lives in her parents’ house, and has a history of mental instability. Now some are questioning the ethics of the Suleman family, who say they’re entertaining numerous high-dollar interview offers from TV networks and publishers. Others are criticizing the doctor who ignored the standard medical practice of implanting no more than two embryos in a 33-year-old woman. For her part, Suleman told NBC’s Ann Curry she grew up an only child and has always “only wanted children.” She got her wish.
