I know it is sad that she got pregnant on her first heat but unfortunately it happens more often than we like. Most of the time the momma can deliver with no problems but you always have to be prepared for the worse. The biggest problem with them still being young and growing is that their bones are still a bit soft and the younger moms have a harder time dilating enough to pass the puppy. It is especially harder if they are carrying only one puppy because the puppy sometimes can get too big for them to pass. If your girl is already getting a big belly then she will probably have at least 3 or 4.

I do hope you will keep us posted and feel free to ask any questions. There is so much to learn about breeding, whelping, and rearing a litter of babies.
