If there is a problem everytime you try to take the pup off of the I/D, she may have to stay on it for life. For the once every couple weeks issue, have you thought about probiotics?
We started transitioning both dogs on Merrick this weekend. They LOVE it. The only thing that im questioning and need some YT advice is that we put them both on the adult formula. We were told that is ok since our pup is over 8 months old and we can supplement with additional protein/fat or with nutracal. Any thoughts on that? I'm going to keep them on Merrick, they LOVE the food (although anything is better than I/D) but i like that they have so many choices and that its touted as good for "sensitive stomachs". We havent had diarrhea, but just softer stools with the pup since we started. Our oldest has not had any adverse reaction yet. The woman at the petstore who was extremely helpful and knowledgable told me not to get probiotics until I speak with my vet, so I am going to check with her on that today. Thanks!!
