I agree you need to hit this at all angles. Vaccuum AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Vaccumming gets up the eggs and larvae the fleas lay as well as the adults. I would call an exterminator to come treat your house and yard. You need to wash your babys bedding and curtains and couch covers if you allow him on the furniture. I would do a wash cycle once a week at the very least. One flea can lay up to 50 eggs at a time and when those hatch they turn into larvae which are cocoons and are not killed by insectiside so they must be vaccuumed up. The hatch cycle I beleive is every 2 weeks so keep on the vaccuuming and washing regimen for a few months.
Also I would put him a 3-week or monthly flea medication such as Frontline or Comfortis if he weighs enough. There are other ways to get rid of fleas such as bombing/fumagating but Ive found that vaccuuming and washing works the best if you keep to it because the bombing does not kill the larvae so they will eventually hatch into adults and lay more eggs. I would also stick any plush toys he has into the freezer for a few days to kill whatever is layed on them. I would also suggest having your vet treat him for worms because all it takes is for him to ingest one flea infested with worms for him to get them. When he bites at the fleas he is probably swallowing some as well.
Good Luck and dont give up its a long but well worth it process!
