We got one of our dogs from a "rescue" which seems awful similar to these horrible breeder situations and our lab mix puppy almost died within two days had it not been for rushing her to the vet. Our little "yorkie" was given to us by our niece, who bought her in Sugarcreek (Amish country) by a breeder named Carlos.  Anyone know any amish guys named Carlos? Me either. My dogs are all healthy now, thank goodness, but what of the hundreds of thousands that are still being sold? And why doesnt anyone in authority seem to care?  |
Because $$$ is more important to the authorities than the life of animals. They are just property and are treated that way. As long as we have lobbyists and breeders who will crush any reform this will continue. There are laws out there without any meat in them or $$$ to make them work. Unless the public gets serious about these inhumane conditions...it will continue.
