If the price difference didn't exist it wouldn't be so much of an issue. A pet quality yorkie in California runs $1200 for a male lowside. If more repritable breeders were established here it wouldn't be as much of a problem. Also, if people were educated about it. I didn't know anything about brokers until I searched for my yorkie. I almost bought one from a broker in Missouri, until I asked the lady if she had the puppy's parents on site. Then she told me that she has "friends" who live out in the country she gets the puppies from, out in the boonies and I wasn't allowed to see the parents and it would be a long drive anyways.

I've seen some excellent breeders on this site, but they seem so hard to find in Cali unless you really look into it.
