I responded to your post before I read the entire thing. Your right to be concerned if your rescuing a yorkie from certain situations. In those cases your right to be of concern. Even in the best circumstances you never know what might pop up with any animal. Others here will have good advice or info for you here. I do know that I got Roxie from a pet store before I knew that this is a bad idea. I learned fast though. Roxie had already started getting sick when I brought her home and the 2nd day of having her was rushing her the vet to be checked out. She had a bad respitory illness and it took a few months to get her completely over it. I wouldn't take her back to the puppy store for nothing. But I should have made them pay the vet bills and reimburse me at least half of what she cost us. On the flip side I can say she's very happy and healthy now and almost 2 years old. She's turned out to be the best dog I've ever had and even though it wasn't such a great start you can see from my last post that I never regret getting her. Good luck to you.
