Sassy's puppies are almost 10 weeks old and she is still letting them suck for a few seconds, then she plays with them for quite a bit before wanting out of the puppy pen. She still barks to get in with them, so we always let her. It is really fun to watch her interact with them, as normally she is not a playful dog. The puppies have been eating puppy food for several weeks so don't need her milk, but sure do go after mamma with gusto
