All my life, I've constantly been told that I need to eat more, I need to gain weight, and I was asked if I was anorexic as I'm eating a double quarter pounder and a large fry. It kind of annoys me when I hear the phrase "real women have curves". So does that mean I'm not a real woman because I wear a size 1 jeans? While the media may insinuate that everyone should be thin, some "real women" look down on those that are small and I have been made fun of about my size. There are two sides to everything. I think everyone just needs to get past how big or small they are, just strive to be healthy, and love themselves and each other for who they are and not what they look like. |
I think some girls might say things like that to others who are so small because it helps them feel better about themselves if they are insecure with their own size. I have a friend who is my age and height (give or take an inch) and is a size 1, she was a size 0 before she had her daughter then got up to a 2 and is now a 1. And it's just genetics, she doesn't eat a certain way and doesn't work out, her mom is really small and so is she. And some of my bigger friends don't like her because she is so small, and it's more or less a jealousy issue.
Not everyone may think that way, but I think it's a way for a lot of people to deal with it. Instead of internalizing their problem they project it onto the person they are jealous of.
