Default one of my guys is eating a rubber plant!

We just noticed that one or both have been nibbling, now a signifcant portion of the lower leaves are missing with little naw marks

Neither one of them shows any symptoms of being sick after the nibbling, and they apparently have been at it for some time. I like the rubber plants and dont want to get rid of them, but if its them or the silly yorkies the plants obviously have to go.

I can spray some bitter dog repellent on the leaves, but should we worry about long term health or the overarching reason for their eating the rubber trees?
