Default Has "digging" ever damaged your furniture?

I know yorkies tend to like digging, and Nikko has recently discovered how much fun it is, especially on our couch. It's not too excessive, and it doesn't bother me - I know it's in his nature, and it's frankly cute to watch him paw out a spot to nap on. But if it's going to rip up the couch eventually, I can't allow it.

Cats can destroy furniture with their scratching, for sure. Which is what has me worried. But has anyone ever had little yorkie claws destroy a couch? I want to let him do it, but I just don't know how much damage his little paws are actually doing? I figure digging is different from cat "clawing" but...???
