There is a cover you buy for the top or use it for a floor too. Others have said that their dogs have climbed out of the expen. I've not had that problem. They do have taller pens. I do not know how much it was as hubby ordered over a year ago online.

I have the same one...got it at PetSmart...and I did the same...attached the xpen to each side of KiKi's crate...gives more space and separates the sleeping area...
