Joey's had to see the emergency vet twice, some things can't wait, if it's an infection, yes, they are painful, and the longer the infection goes on without treatment the greater chances of it can spreading to the kidneys, and doing more damage. I would either sit at the vets office and wait for a squeeze-in, or go to the emergency vet.
