Good Luck! It may take some time for him to settle in and get used to the cat...I'm sure she'll be interesting at first and maybe in time he'll be less interested in her.
I have one very antisocial cat...she tries to keep to herself but will definitely hiss and growl if another one of the pets gets too close. Rylie (yorkie) doesn't really mess with her, but Lacy (yorkie) LOVES to go after the cat. She will chase her anytime she can and will bark at her, usually when she hisses.
So...I think a lot of it will depend on how he decides to act with your roommate's cat. My cat would just keep to herself and stay completely away from the dogs if she could...and if it was just Rylie here, he would ignore her as well. But Lacy goes after Kira...just a difference in the dogs' personalities I guess.
