I am sorry you have been through so much. As much as we love their hair - she let you know that it didn't matter to her

I'm not sure how long it will take - I adopted mine & they had short hair - I immediately let it start growing - seems like it took a long time, but they were adults. But then on the other side it probably didn't take that long - I was just anxious for it to grow
Short hair means Suzi can look cute wearing all those adorable sweaters and T's
